Polonaises, waltzes, polkas, mazurkas, quadrilles and contredanses return to light up Italy’s ancient halls, clubs, streets, parks and beautiful squares, promoting cultural socialization with a graceful touch.
When the Compagnia Nazionale di Danza Storica opens its events and performances to the public, CNDS students of all ages are called to participate wearing their wonderful period costumes and performing some of the most beloved 19th century dances under the guidance of a Master of Ceremonies.
Dance performances including Fächer - Polonaise, Spanish Waltz, French Quadrille, The Lancers, Rose del Sud, Musen Polka, Mr. Beveridge's Maggot, Mazurka from the Leopard, Hole in the Wall, The Comical Fellow, Virginia Reel, Radetzky March and many others get the audience so excited that in the end everyone joins in the experience.
Performances open to the public are elegant, captivating, joyful, lively and colorful events that can win the hearts even of those who have never danced before, culminating in the Master of Ceremonies involving them in learning 19th century dances.
Every activity the Compagnia Nazionale di Danza Storica undertakes, including its public performances, is a form of choral entertainment to be shared by people who have a modus vivendi based on mutual respect, traditions and on a common interest in romantic artistic expressions.
Students of all ages of the Compagnia Nazionale di Danza Storica have participated in public performances featured in the Summer Programs of several Municipalities such as: Notti bianche (White Nights), Open Museums Nights, FAI (the Italian Environmental Fund), the Historic Houses Association and many (very appreciated) 19th century picnics.
